Poor darlin... I’ve never experienced a “mean” broody before.. when Nilky was broody I could just simply take her off the nest without much protest... and the same with Sunny my BuffOrp....... I guess you just never know how each will act... hopefully I don’t get anymore broodies :fl

I retrieved the chick water dispenser from the storage unit, clean it up, filled it, and took it out to her. This is what I found when I got there. Look to the right of the cabbage next to the crate.

Someone tried to give her an egg to hatch! The picture does not show it but you can see in the dirt where they (or Mal) tried to roll it into the crate. Clearly the rest of the flock was behind her hatching.

It's hard to be a chicken parent. Just like it's hard to be a human parent.
:hmm

But as I told my kids, the right thing is usually hard.

:lau:lau:lau It's a conspiracy! Do you have protection?

Hold That Thought!

That has to be Maleficent's egg. Check out what I found in an earlier picture that I took. The egg was in the crate previously! That is very strange. She must have either kicked it or rolled it out.

Man they are giving me the dirty eyeballs right now. If they were Italian women like my wife I would be really scared right now. They all came into the run and yelled at me when I was out there.

Strange she rolled her egg out. Setting her baby free? Proving she's not broody any more? Clumsy?

Clumsy. Not a lot of room in there. Probably just kicked it.
