I use a 2x4 on the wide side so they can fully cover their feet in the winter. That is surely wide enough.
@LozzyR I am sorry. I kept just repeating myself. A US 2x4 is 3.5 inches or 9 cm on the wide side. Does that help?

I think our equivalent is 100x50 (in millimetres) I'll cut the width down to 10cm/4 inches and I might be able to place it over the door. It will have to wait until the weekend though, fingers crossed she doesn't go broody again before then!
I'm sure it will be fine. It's too soon.
She even let me pat her this morning whilst she was waiting for breakfast on the top step outside the back door! I didn't push it, I just stroked her a couple of times. I thought she'd be cranky with me for being awful to her!
They seem to get over it fast. Mal and I are besties again and that was just a couple of weeks ago. I'm glad it worked for you.
Luckily for us chook don't hold grudges. They are very forgiving ~ so long as the treats keep coming! She even let me pat her this morning whilst she was waiting for breakfast on the top step outside the back door! I don't believe so - looks like it would be too scary for adults & kids
