Yes, true. I think Faverolles seem to be a good option (placid and less broody) but they’re so far away!

I travel nearly 2 hours to my supplier plus an hour on a barge. It's not so bad. Chooks are chatty. Favorelles are pretty placid. I have Xs & even brand new they chatted on the barge & were quite good company. Why not get a friend to go with you? I always taken my daughter when I buy & we make a day of it.

I drove two hours bringing two terrified 16 week-old pullets back from Sydney. They didn’t do much chatting. I could take my son, but I don’t think I’m quite there yet. Although I’m pretty sure Lucy’s close to retirement. Her eggshells are paper-thin; I’m just scared one will crack inside her.

I just got buzzed by Aurora!

I was walking to my chair after opening the run so they can free range and apparently the thought hit her that they had left some mealy worms uneaten last night on the deck. She just took off and flew right past my face! I even had coffee in my hand. Fortunately mine was in a travel mug so none was spilled on me. That was startling! By the way, I may not be 6 foot tall but I am 5 ft 8 in (1.7 m). She was over 5 feet in the air and traveled about 25 feet (7.6 m)!

Proof of the extension cord

Here is the extension cord that became buried in my yard this summer. You can see it cut across the pool cement ans then disappear on both sides. Crazy. I just never realized.
