Yep, that's pretty cool!Ok, good to know!I’m pretty chuffed that Charlie has started squatting for me!
I've got 3 hens that like to jump their fence. The Favorelle X runs to me when she sees me & squats even though she knows I will pick her up & put her back in the run. One of the Campines puts herself back over the fence but the other lets me corner her, squats & basically shuts her eyes for a quick nap & a cuddle when I pick her up!

I just double checked & realised Charlie was already laying so she may just have decided you are **the rooster who must be obeyed.**

Despite all the oh they're so cuddly and cute and the fascination with hatching (an addiction for some it seems) humans cannot teach chicks what a mother hen can. The hens that survive here survive because they've learn't how to in this environment. They teach this to the next generation.
I think they know I'm not a rooster and not the boss and wouldn't make a very reliable father.
. That's poetic and thoughtful. I was wondering about the leaf and walnut though. Thanks for sharing Shad
