Ha! Below zero? So far this winter here it got down to 17 degrees F (which is minus 8 degrees C). As a new chicken mom I was terrified for my ladies but they seemed completely unfazed by the whole thing. I now know that the water bucket inside the coop stays unfrozen down to the mid 20s Fahrenheit which is because my princesses are clearly such 'hot chicks' that they keep the inside of the coop warm! :lau
10 watts per chicken I'm led to believe. I guess Tribe 1 will be warm with ten of them in there and not much space.

I’m hearing lots of crowing but no further alarms... sigh, I don’t know how you do cold winters @BY Bob... I can hardly bring myself to leave the blankets despite having already been outside chasing off the Owl. Three of Sammy’s Littles two pullets and a cockerel, managed to spook and end up on the other side of the cardboard barrier with the other persons 6 cockerels somehow during this morning’s owl visit... luckily everyone was so upset by the owl that no trouble ensued
Well, that will get your blood flowing in the morning! That is if the cold weather doesn't do it. :lau I felt the same way this morning. Very hard to go out there and check water dishes and shuffle Pippi over to the hen side. At least he is beginning to understand what I'm doing for him. When he wants to be with the hens, he just keeps looking for a hole in the fence where they are. I have to come open the gate and let just him out, leaving Mad and his pullets behind. Now I can stand at the gate and call Pippi and he'll come and walk through, although still a bit slow and chattering all the way. He's trying. And he's so cute about it.

Oh ma ga! The emails yall :barnie .. I go and delete and they fill right back up.. and I can’t come near to deleting them all... to be honest.. that was part of the reason why I had left for awhile.. I get overwhelmed:rolleyes:
Set up a rule in your email account to automatically send them to the deleted folder on receipt, and be done with it.
