Hi @micstrachan , did you find when your girls had their implants that they expelled egg product for a few days afterwards? There looked like there was a smaller soft shell attached to a poo on Saturday and some yolky poos today. It would make sense that I’d the hormones drop off the oviduct would clear itself out, but I’m not really sure of the mechanics.
No, I did not observe this, personally. I think one may have been laying internally and the other stopped due to illness.

I'm very impressed that they respond to your whistle @micstrachan . 😮 👍

Beautiful girls by the way. I love all the different plumage
Thank you! I’ll share a video of me calling them in. It’s pretty cute. The whistle is new. Not sure how they knew!

So far my new BR’s won’t come out from under the coop. Maybe they’re still stressed from being sold. I can’t even get a picture of them yet. I’ll keep you posted.
Aww... little sweeties. They must be traumatized, but this shall pass.:)

It takes a while for chickens to adjust to a big change. They don't like any change at all. So, yes, they are stressed. They will come out in time. Are they accessing food and water? That would be the only thing I would really worry about.

I did, and they were fascinating! Thank you for making them available to us. Don't know I would have found that information on my own. It reinforces what I've always believed. They are so smart!
Where are these links?

The article is quite long but FASCINATING! I really loved reading it. Thank you for posting. Lots in there to take on board. The different maternal styles particularly struck me. I am sure all of you who have roosters and hens that raise chicks must have seen that.
Ah! Here! Thank you!

Elizabeth is very Catalan looking. It's something about the face apart from the shape a colour.
Tee hee. I will let her know, and I am sure she will like that. Not just any old hen but an exotic Catalan Princess! I suspect it is just camera angle and pose. She and Diana are very similar to look at. Just Diana has more white on her rump. Diana likes to fly. Elizabeth likes to dig (she is my best garden helper).
