Looks like she’s been playing in the rain?
I missed this post of Bob’s! It warms my heart!Lilly is really stepping up! What a great hen.
WOOOHOOOO!!! It seems to be very effective in that downpour.Elevated Coop Benfits today
We were discussing elevating the coop yesterday on some thread. I elevated mine for several reasons. One of them is in full effect today. I raised it just enough that they could stand comfortably underneath it. This gives them somewhere to go when the weather is awful. The rain cant really reach them.
This is happening right now.

It is so dark right now the camera won't switch from night vision.
There is always dry dirt here for dust bathing as well.
Oh my!"It's just a touch of post natal depression. I wasn't expecting so many at once."

Concern for Each Other
Yesterday seemed to be a good day for the flock. They seemed to spend more time as a threesome. There was rain off and on all day and they would duck under the coop whenever it got heavy.
Late in the day they were hanging out when the skies really opened. This time they did not respond as a flock. Lilly and Hattie sprinted for the safety of the coop and Aurora came running to the Big Coop. She started pecking at the door and I let her in, of course.

Once Lilly discovered that Aurora was not with them, she started calling to her. She kept up calling until Aurora, having eaten enough worms, went back outside and ran to join them.
