Well, why drink out of a nice scrubbed drinking fountain when you have a great big pool nearby that looks something like a pond or small lake? I think this girl's a great thinker!

Well, my girls prefer the dirtiest, grubbiest water they can find when everything I've read about keeping chickens says nice, fresh, clean, cool water. Go figure. If the water's got wrigglers so much the better!

The coloring (colouring) on you birds is special. There is nothing anywhere like them. What chickens can create breeding on their own, who knew. I think someone else commented on how green everything is. They fit right in with their surroundings. Wonderful pictures.

So do mine. But the older ones won't get anywhere near the pool. These new girls do not have enough fear or respect for the water.

Hattie needs to teach them better.

I should add any lying water round here will be high in tannins due to the gum leaves.

Ivy and Sandy are avid tea fanciers. They don't drink it, but they like to check the colour and the teacup, and give it a good sniff.
