A Memory of some Special Ladies

Google does this thing where it shows me photos from previous years every Sunday. This came up today. It is from March, 3 years ago. 2 of my special girls enjoying a meal together. I miss them both but it is getting easier to remember them and the good times we had.

Aww... cuties!

She’s been absolutely scoffing her breakfast and dinner, and I heard her softly trilling again today. She still sometimes looks uncomfortable but I’m wondering if that’s because she’s moulting. Poos still aren’t quite normal, but she came running up the yard in anticipation of breakfast this morning! :love
Wonderful! Though I haven’t been on lately, I’ve been thinking of Chickie!

I was catching up on your thread Bob when I looked out the window and saw this...

From the left that's Deana, Alice and Edwina. I'm afraid that Tsuki is just out of shot on the right Bob.

I think they want their turn on the computer to check BeakBook :gig

Now I am in floods of tears. I have had two cats die in my arms and one I had the vet euthenize. But then there was Pashmina. A fully indoor cat who was about 18 or maybe 20. Clearly wasting away from old age but with a nice cat life with a warm bed and lots of cuddles. One evening she gets up and goes to the front door and howls to be let out. She had never gone out that door her whole life. After hours of agonizing (I could sense what she had in mind) I let her out and she walked confidently off into the night and was never seen again. For a while I felt guilty at letting her out. But now I feel I did the right thing. She knew it was her time to go. Hope I have half as much dignity when it is my turn.
I believe I saw something like this with Blue Spot when she became sick. It was quite apparent that she wanted to be with her tribe and outside. After 11 years of life, the last few spent leading her tribe, I felt she knew far better than I what was best for her.

You should see what the chickens eat and drink here. They have plenty of clean water, eight water stations and they still drink out of the plant pot bases.
Seriously, it probably does taste good and may even supply trace elements that they need. I don’t think botulism is a concern from muddy water.

I’m not sure where you’d get it, but my Frizzle breeder friend lost a teenage rooster to what she thought was botulism, and she thought he might have drunk some dodgy water somewhere.
