Mr. Squirrel Better Watch Out

Mr. Squirrel has gotten very brave and it almost cost him yesterday. He has learned to work the opposite side of the yard from Lilly and she has gotten frustrated by him.

Yesterday while Lilly was napping behind the deck furniture where she could not see him, Mr. Squirrel invaded the back yard. He went everywhere. It was like he had no worries in the world. Little did he know......

He was bouncing around enjoying himself, going wild. As he bounced past the magnolia tree he picked up a shadow.

Perhaps he did not see or hear her behind him but he just kept bouncing along like he a head no worries. She followed him for quite a while biding her time.

Then she pounced! She jumped into the air intending to land on his back.

She looked like an eagle coming down, wings spread, and talons out.

At the least second, Mr. Squirrel must have seen her and he bounced left. She just missed him, grazing his back, she jumped again but he was ready and took off sprinting away, into the big run. Not necessarily the best choice

Phyllis was not done.

In she went after him.

I could not see what went on the run but I did see Mr. Squirrel climb the walls of the run several times at a very rapid pace.

Eventually, he exited the complex through the side door and went up the wall of the big run and over the perimeter fence. Phyllis chased him out of the run and stood right outside the door.

Guarding it.

For like 5 minutes.

Mr. Squirrel was back today when they were locked in the complex. I have not seen him since they were let out to free range.

I have to believe that Mr. Squirrel outweighs Phyllis 2:1. It did not deter her.

Way to defend the yard Phyllis. :clap:clap
Phyllis-the-fearless. You go girl!

I wasn’t sure who to root for! I ended up rooting for Phyllis. She reminded me of Nardol the Brave!
