I am much more confident now I have watched them closely. I showed them where food and water is and then I showed them back under the plate. I have them a little ramp but it is only 6” up and they can fly.
They seem fine with the cold as long as they can run back under and warm up for a few minutes.
Adorably, the minute they pop into the warm they nap.

Hello. My name is Minnie. I am really tiny but I can stretch up tall if there is something to see. I only have an itty-bitty tail, more of a fig-leaf really, which I need to preserve my modesty when my human-mom takes pictures of my fluffy butt.

Tack has finally found her place on a roost bar in Tribe 2's coop. This will hopefully make her more inclined to not go up a tree at night. It's also great because the nest boxes will stay clean.
Knock is having a coop tour in her broody desperation. I've taken two lots of eggs away so far. This is a complete pain because having eggs in the coops encourages the others to lay in them rather than outside.
Treacle was okay after his sick bout but not quite the full ticket. I gave him another flush out with water and then cold coconut oil. His crop is working okay and tonight he went to roost with it noticeably fuller than yesterday.
I'm going to have to make some nest box alterations. I've got two with Itch Mite rash from the straw now. I'm inclined to put plain earth in and some recently cut grass. One set of nest boxes will need reinforcing for this.
I'm happy to hear that Treacle is improving. Any thoughts on what may have caused the initial issue? Did he maybe eat something he shouldn't have?

I was leaving eggs in nests to encourage coop laying and then Sydney started switching nests. I feel your pain.

It's so exciting that she's talking to the eggs!

Apart from the shell, was Lily's egg complete?
It is exciting. I have not cracked Lilly's egg. I was planning to hard boil it and then look inside. Then after I was done feed it to them, but I could scramble it after cracking it into a bowl,. Any preferred method anyone.
