We lost our sweet Bananabelle last night... she had an egg prolapse and I was able to get the egg out/off and tried to get the tissue back in but I believe we were to late.. she died over night... and yes, of course she was our favorite View attachment 2208788View attachment 2208789

It took me a moment to notice Bob had written “mum” instead of “mom”.

I'm going to be joining Ribh in the I'm so over broodies corner soon.
Its Tackle and if it was possible to cope with more chickens she is next in line to hatch. But, I'm going to have to spoil it all.What's worse, she's in the right place and doing all the right things.

It is fenced off from other humans. From the Aunties, not possible. From the chicks, maybe. It might be easier to just confine their free range radius than do the whole pool. I have been thinking about it all day now.

Wow. That's a bummer. She looks so happy too. I seem to have one who is permanently semi~broody. So long as she doesn't go full out for it I can cope with her hogging one nest for most of the day. I feel your pain.
