Just a quick update from the Chicken Palace. I had a bit of a scare and was admitted to hospital as an emergency in the middle of the night I think it was Wednesday. They just released me, fortunately without needing surgery. But I have to ease back to solid food slowly.
Anyway, the chicks seem to have become huge with just a couple of days away from them!
But they are still not quite brave enough to come out of their brooder area but are beginning to be curious.
It is very hot here and I managed to fit hardware cloth shutters to the Palace Windows so the Princesses can enjoy a bit of a breeze at night.
According to the hospital I am supposed to rest over the next few days. My attempts to nap on the sofa were a bit stymied by Nightshade.
That’s it from me. Time I had another nap.

Oh goodness! How scary! I’m glad you are on the mend. :hugs

So I decided to try the barium sulfate and clavamox for Roxy. She’s happy to be home. No free ranging, since we don’t know what’s upsetting her intestines. Fed her some cooked beef liver (purchased especially for her), which she loved!

I love that video. 🥰 Roxy is so pretty and such a precise and delicate eater! The blue plate and cushions also set off her feathers. Lovely.
She and I are kindred spirits. I think I was stuffed full of barium sulfate in the hospital. I was spared the Clavamox though. 🤣
Hope she gets better soon.
