I need a facepalm reaction.

Did anyone else think Lily enjoyed that?
I want to say yes but she had this "what did I do" expression on her face when she came through. I'm sure she enjoyed the chaos her happy accident created. Probably told all the other aunties it was her fault while they laughed at poor Sydney trying to corrall her kids.

Did you hide Phyllis in a closet? I saw no photo-bombing from her this time.
She has learned to stay out of Sydney's way when she is putting them to bed. Phyllis took a couple of tough whoopings fron Sydney for getting in her way at bed time.

Just a quick update from the Chicken Palace. I had a bit of a scare and was admitted to hospital as an emergency in the middle of the night I think it was Wednesday. They just released me, fortunately without needing surgery. But I have to ease back to solid food slowly.
Anyway, the chicks seem to have become huge with just a couple of days away from them!
But they are still not quite brave enough to come out of their brooder area but are beginning to be curious.
It is very hot here and I managed to fit hardware cloth shutters to the Palace Windows so the Princesses can enjoy a bit of a breeze at night.
According to the hospital I am supposed to rest over the next few days. My attempts to nap on the sofa were a bit stymied by Nightshade.
That’s it from me. Time I had another nap. View attachment 2215719View attachment 2215720View attachment 2215721View attachment 2215722
My gosh. Please take care of yourself. That is scary. :hugs :hugs

The little ladies have grown a lot. They are still adorable. :love

I am shocked at how fast they grow. They have gone from cotton ball to bird in just 3 weeks. Amazing. I don't know if the feathers they have now are their adult feathers or if they go through another change as they grow. They are still losing some down which gives them a sort of 'bad hair day' look especially before they preen themselves in the morning but they are mostly feathered now.

So I decided to try the barium sulfate and clavamox for Roxy. She’s happy to be home. No free ranging, since we don’t know what’s upsetting her intestines. Fed her some cooked beef liver (purchased especially for her), which she loved!

We will be praying for her recovery. She sure did wolf down that liver! :hugs :hugs

These are awkward days for them. I do believe that those are their feathers. They will likely be that color.

Please take care of yourself. You were missed and I was thrilled to see you show up again. :hugs :hugs

How exciting - I think they are very pretty! I wish they thought better of me. I tried offering them a strawberry but that didn't get me anywhere.
I will persevere - I did manage to get Minnie to perch on my hand for about 5 mins today. Couldn't get a picture because I didn't dare move in case I scared her.

I love that video. 🥰 Roxy is so pretty and such a precise and delicate eater! The blue plate and cushions also set off her feathers. Lovely.
She and I are kindred spirits. I think I was stuffed full of barium sulfate in the hospital. I was spared the Clavamox though. 🤣
Hope she gets better soon.
That sounds scary. I’m glad it turned out well. Thanks for the comments on the video!
