One Year Ago Today

As you all know, I like to do look backs. A year ago today was a very significant day. It was Eve's open heart surgery. We were so blessed that it all went so well. As proof, here is Eve from yesterday showing off her mobility.

Lilly and Phyllis combined on Mr Squirrel yesterday. The treed him on the shepherd's hook. Unfortunately he escaped via the magnolia tree. Maybe next time

My two black girls are the most skittish of the flock so it is hard to get a good picture of them.

Mr. Squirrel can be happy he lives with you. This morning I saw a Bald Eagle swoop down and snatch a hit squirrel on the road!!

I was driving and couldn't get a picture, but the bird was just beautiful and huge! It's only my second time seeing on in the wild.

I have rarely seen a bald eagle in the wild and I have never seen one kill something. That must have been awe inspiring. Wow.

Both times I have seen Eagles in the wild were recently in Perry County. It didn't have to kill the squirrel, just picked it up, a car killed it.

Both times I have seen Eagles in the wild were recently in Perry County. It didn't have to kill the squirrel, just picked it up, a car killed it.

They call that Fast Food in Eagle circles.

He better watch out, there's quite a few locals who'd fight for a dead squirrel!!
