It's now 8 pm and all the chickens have tucked themselves into bed. Every one had a bit of free range time.

I believe the 2 chickens Anna had given to her are actually Pheonixes instead of OEGB. Phoenix's tail feathers just keep growing and growing! Plus Violet has impressive feathers herself.

Ned and Lucky were unsure how to get out for free ranging, so I had to pull up the fence.

Ned is very much like Stanley was as a youngster, very friendly and FOOD oriented!!😂 Rich and I are enjoying a campfire tonight and ordered a Stromboli from the local pizza shop. Well Ned decided it was to good to past up and he stole a big piece right from Rich's plate! I didn't get a picture of it, but I did take this one later...

I am so jealous! Phoenixs are on my *want* list. They are seriously hard to get out here but so beautiful!

Just hope that they aren't pregnant so that you don't end up with more permanent residents! 😁
I know! That is what I am terrified about.
One suggestion I got was to lock one of the cats in the Palace overnight. It is not a terrible idea except I haven't introduced the cats to the chickens yet so that feels like a big step, and of course the cat will be scared and will sit and yowl for me all night which I probably couldn't handle. So then maybe the cat and I stay in the coop at night - which sounds weird but might also not be a terrible idea. Maybe I move a comfy chair inside so I can nap. Wouldn't have to be all night maybe.
I am going to keep trying traps for a bit longer.

I think patience with traps is the correct strategy. I'm not sure I would deviate from that.

Violet decided my shoulder was better last night. She sat on my shoulder for about 15 minutes singing a soft little trill in my ear.💜

If I could ship you some @Ribh I would, in a heartbeat!

I will be excited to see that for sure! Right now I am just totally taken with their silly black hats and the fact that the two of them go everywhere together and do the exact same thing at the same time. Up the step, down the step, look to the left, look to the right, run up the ladder, run down the ladder. As @BY Bob said, they are BFFs!
I love that!
