A while back when I was without power for 5 days I mentioned how the live wire had turned the dirt to glass.
@BY Bob I think you said you were interested in seeing it. Of course I forgot but was in that area just now ‘cos another branch came down so I took some pics.
A bit difficult to show properly but I took some shots of the whole scorched area and some close-ups of the edges of the hole that the wire punched through the dirt and then I broke off some of the glass bits. Here goes (sorry if boring and not chicken related):

Wow! That's amazing...and very disturbing. I'm glad you stayed away from that live wire RC.

That second last picture looks rather like a frog.

This is absolutely fascinating. Wow! I was hoping for these but did not want to pester you. Are you planning to save those pieces of glass-like material? There has to be some decorative use for them. Fish tank, or vase, or something. Those are amazing!

I'm with ByBob. Gotta keep 'em. Hopefully you never have the opportunity to make more!

You know there are no eggs there, right?

This was the coop last night. It's like Hattie and Sydney were chatting.

Sydney looks so sad.

I just picture Hattie saying, "It's ok, I'll lay you another one tomorrow. I know Aurora said she would too. That will give you 2, that's enough, right?"

Sydney: "He'll just take them again. I don't understand why I can't hatch more. The others are gone and there is lots of room here." Sniff Sniff

I had that same bird feeder when I lived in PA! AND, it was decorated the same! You know, with a squirrel on each side. 😤
I had to go to metal because the squirrels chewed the plastic feeders wide open. Usually Lilly and Phyllis defend the bird feeder from squirrels but it was raining out yesterday when this happened and they were standing under the magnolia tree. Watching. Always watching.

Where did you live in PA?
