Oh that is not good. During an earlier phase of construction the smaller Princesses took to laying eggs under the floor joists.
There were 10 or more there before I figured it out. Poor Maggie was the one that gave it away. She is too big to fit in that small space and was making a hullabaloo about not being able to get in there with her sisters.
we had to attach wire to the underside of the joists.
Hattie was just under the deck an hour ago clucking up a storm. :he

I wouldn't be so worried but I have skunks entering my yard as we all know from the post-Mal videos. Eggs laid all around the yard is ultra-encouraging for them to keep coming by. I am super scared then that someone will try and hatch out of the coop. I only need to miss 1 bed check and I will have a tragedy on my hands.

Tonight is perfect for a little free range time.

Ned and Lucky are mixing in nicely with the rest of the flock. Ned and Lucky are still getting special treats!

That was all Mrs BY Bob. I did not think it would work and still can't believe it has. She is super resourceful and finds a way to get her share. I feel very safe in saying that she is the best Omega hen I have had.

I also know that whenever we add again, Mrs BY Bob it's going to push hard for another polish.
Ooooh! You said whenever (not if ever). It is just a matter of time. :love

You may need to figure how to block off access to under the deck.
