I bet they do! But, yeah. Rabbits are cute and don’t give the heebie jeebie feeling. LOL.

We love them to death and would not trade our experiences with them. They've made us laugh a lot and there's nothing like chicken tv to calm a weary soul.

Thanks. I’m fine. Got antibiotic drops, a tetanus shot and ophthalmologist referral for follow up, since there was still a little tissue hanging on.

So I’ve been thinking more about this and hate the fact that I play a huge role in this awful cycle by buying hatchery birds. But right now I enjoy them too much not to. I’m really torn.

Obviously your only choice is to become a breeder and create the perfect hen for our satisfaction and gratification!

Oh my goodness, this is very hard work! Wrists are sore and my arms are shaking. It’s only 12:30! I’m making good progress, though.
I seriously hope DH will do his junk area. Otherwise, my work isn’t worth much, as they will just relocate over there. Chicken area is between here and there. Bunnies now live near the area I’m taking care of.

So sorry to hear about all this. I'm over here hoping for the best possible outcome.

We are in a similar situation. I think our chickens are about the same age, and mine are hybrid production birds. This is Mrs. Howell off in a corner by herself trying to deal with a stuck egg...again.

This is a constant thing with seemingly at least one of the three having problems on any given day. I used to rush out and try to help them along --I've become quite the proctologist-- but it became such a burdensome and traumatic thing for both the chickens and me, that I've had to just back off and let things happen as they will. So far they have all managed to deliver the problem eggs eventually. It's always a soft-shelled, or no-shelled mess, which they then instantly devour.

Oh well, live and learn, I guess. This is our first flock and I will be wiser and more informed in the future. I share your anger.

Oh dear. It's very stressful when this happens.
