A day late (Sassy Butt Saturday?) but here's Mary's freshly washed and blowdried tooshi :love
Haha! Sassy Butt! It’s still Friday, but I did not get any fluffy butt photos. Just prickly butt photos.

Poor Lucky is my fatty who seems too bulbous below her vent.

You may be on to something here. 🤔
If there’s such a think as a silver laced brahma, yes. But I’m only aware of light, buff and dark brahmas. OMG, dark brahmas are gorgeous and on my list. Shad wouldn’t like them much, as they are huge fluffy things, but they are so pretty and cuddly looking!

Dark Brahmas are on my list to have one day! Buttercup is a Light Brahma. She’s huge and super sweet with me. I never wanted feather-footed chickens, but Jeff brought her home when he picked up my ordered chicks three and a half years ago and she’s the best!

Went to shut Tribe 1 in for the night and found them perched around the outside of the coop. The pop door was shut!
It is just about possible that one of the sheep knocked it and it feel down the slots but I very much doubt it. That means someone shut it. I haven't asked yet and it will take me a while to be calm enough to be able to hold my temper.
The problem is, Tap is missing. I found all the others but not her. I had hoped she might have got into the hay storage section of the sheep shed but she wasn't there. I've looked everywhere I can think she might go. I do hope she makes it through the night. It's one thing having a tribe, or even two or three out for the night. The more sensible pick decent roost spots. Tap isn't very old and doesn't have the experience. The rest stuck close to Cillin and Treacle and naturally, even if I had missed them at dusk, I would have discovered the problem later when I check on them.

This type of thing is one of those largely unreported consequences of the Covid virus. People who should be safely shut in offices playing with bits of paper and their computers decide they will do stuff around the place. There have been lots of accidents in the area from exactly this. People have decided to things themselves because the suddentdly have the time rather than let or pay the people who usually do these things for them. Three chainsaw accidents this year on this mountain alone. We've had two donkey injuries here that required vet care because the people here can't remember to shut gates, turn on electric fences, check water supply and even worse, decide to take the animals out on excursions.
It's not just a problem here. I was talking about this subject with a couple of other people with small holdings here who have family members who usually work in Barcelona or similar.
I just hope Tap has found somewhere safe.:fl
🙏 :fl I hope Tap makes it through the night!!!

Barred Rock (which also includes Sydney, Stanley, Ned, Soda and Bridge (I think?)) I know Ribh has at least two.
Yes, Bridge! Look at those sweet slivers of bars. I’ve never seen that... so delicate. Faverolles come red??? so pretty! Happy Cheeks was a Salmon Faverolle. I’d still like another someday. Bob, is Aurora a Salmon Faverolle?

Anyway, from one thread to another, look who came round today.
They haven't been round as a tribe for, I don't know, maybe over a month.
They all piled in this evening and I was so pleased to see them i didn't get a picture until some had left with Treacle to go to roost.
Needless to say I spoilt them rotten. Fresh made mash with the commercial feed, tuna, walnuts, a small piece of cheese each. I had a long chat with Cillin as I gave his leg a check over. Did Fat Birds bum. Easy to check poor fudge for mites given they've got hardly any feathers to hide under. Hurry has worms I think so she's on the meds as from tomorrow. Looked like eggs in her poop under magnification.
They left late due to the storm outside. Just checked on Fudge; not much waterproofing on her atm, but she's dry and wedged next to Fat Bird again.

How lovely! And I have love in my heart for Fat Bird. Just sayin’.
