I started my own thread, but it seems to lag. It’s my fault because I post sporadically. I just don’t have much interesting news on a day to day basis.
I also have trouble keeping up with the threads I follow. They get ahead of me. I don’t know if I’m a slow reader, or what but I can’t keep up. I come on here every day and all my favorite threads are pages ahead!
I'm so far behind here, I just pick a spot and start reading...today I am behind by 50 or so pages, I didn't count when I started...I don't think it's doable...so I might have to move further along...I didn't pick a very good spot did I...:gig

Our Araucanas all lay blue eggs as far as I know. Alice does and so does Pepper who is a cross.

The breed standard in Australia is for the tail (not "rumpless"). Apparently it is the rumpless and ear-tuft genes that are associated with the lethal gene.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but Pepper's egg is ever so slightly greener than Alice's

Those are beautiful! Alice's egg reminds me of my EE'S egg & Pepper's reminds me of my Sapphire Olive Egger's egg!💞

Maggie's hearts desire
A big part of the Maggie health plan is to spoil her rotten. Observing her I think she is not a fan of the feeder. Something about the space for her head maybe? She is perfectly happy to eat commercial food if I put it on a log or scatter it on the floor.

So now I serve her commercial food on a log, leaving the feeder for The Little Princesses who seem quite happy with it.

But of course her favorite thing is the Sunday leaf pile.

I love the contented little sounds they all make while looking for all the wriggly things they seem to find in there.
I can't watch the video as I do not have permission? Anyone else having this problem?

Very Sad Anniversary

Today is the 5th anniversary of Elphie's passing. Here is the link to the story of her life and her passing for those of you who do not know it.

I feel I need to celebrate the hen that started my path to living these wonderful silly animals. Here is Elphie's life in pictures.
