Going to one up you on that Bob... Got the text an hour and a half ago that, like it or not, the cows are being put into my chicken yard/ trailer area today. Frantically moving everyone into the field. Taking a food break before I drop, and trying to de-stress. Just when things were starting to look positive. There is no pasture here, but there is a barn they know has Hay in it. And all the yummy chicken feed barrels.

The cows discovered this spring that they can smash the 2x2 framing of my big tractors with their heads, and lift the meat tractors and hospital tractors and toss them around like toys to get at the tasty chicken feed I give my birds. I lost two chickens to them. FML.
Man you got me beat! That is terrible. I'm so sorry. I wish I could come help you. :hugs :hugs

I used to sing that song "You are my sunshine" to my hen "Sunshine" all the time. I really miss that wonderful hen. RIP. I still love you Sunshine!
I really need my emotional support rooster now! OH, never mind, he's right here!
I've had Treacle in with me most of the afternoon. He got on my lap for half an hour or so and had a doze. He's never done that before.

Well, that's a start!
He's a funny chap. he scrapes at my boot with one foot when he wants attention. I had just sat down this afternoon and was about to give him a piece of walnut when he scraped at my boot. I had the walnut in my hand. I was about to pick him up when up he jumped, had his bits of walnut and then settled on my thigh. I sort of felt obliged not to get up then. A few minutes later he closed his eyes. No way was I going to get up then. Treacle! Asleep on my lap!:love
