He does an amazing job...he would have made a great engineer...he just couldn't stand all of the required non essential classes in college & refused to pay for them! I believe we need to get away from today's college programs & move towards vocational education!
So do I. While a full university education is an amazing thing, it is bankrupting today's students. There should be another choice.

Mrs BY Bob is a great nurse. She could never have afforded college. She went ro nursing school and got her RN. You can no longer do that. In fact most hospitals are requiring people like her to get their BS. It makes no sense. How does learning American history make her a better nurse. A better person yes, nurse no.

I’m just too much of a softie to drown them... and releasing them doesn’t work. I’ve accidentally caught mice in just plain old 5 gallon buckets accidentally and felt awful when theY have turned cannibal or starved in them because I’ve not needed the bucket... I like the good old snap traps in good repair, quick and clean and I don’t usually have to finish anything off. Which is something else I can’t stand having to do.
I would agree with that. I need them dead.

:barnie I feel separation anxiety this time, every night. I put the "kids" to bed, watching them all settle on their chosen perches; And after petting each one, I close up the coop for the night.
I didn't bring any of them in tonight. (Seems they prefer the barn/coop over the house).
It's probably my overactive imagination, but "such is life"😩
I use sticky traps in key areas, baited with peanut butter, away from the chickens.

I am with you on the snap trap preference. I also have a rat zapper (an electric chair for rats) which works well if they are hungry enough to go in. But with so much chicken food on the ground nobody is going anywhere near the traps.

Oh I hate sticky traps and finding them with just a foot or part of a leg. :(

No I did not. We rent and mint can be very invasive so I don't want to plant any. I have used peppermint sachet in the pantry in case of mice. I have no signs of mice, but again we have the cats, so I can't say for sure if it's the peppermint or the cats.
My cats get a fair number of mice. But there’s always more of them and I am not sure they could deal with a big rat.
