The paint gun certainly saw off the fox and gave him a blue tail which like to think made him the laughing stick of all vixens in the area.
the problem is remembering to have it with you. They creep up at unexpected moments.
Indeed. I was unprepared today. It has been a long time since a hawk attempt around here. They have been around but no attacks. I suspect that I have never shot this one. I need to.

I was off BYC for a few days, and now I've missed almost 100 pages! I don't know if I'll be able to read through all of them. Has anything big happened?
I heard something about a brawl and Mug Monday?
We are now doing "Mug Monday" where you show the opposite side of your chicken from Fluffy Butt Friday.

There was an all out brawl between Aurora and Hattie.

One of Shad's hens, Mel, survived an attack by a Goshawk.

Not much going on.....😁

I'm quite shocked by how close it was!
They have no fear. It knew I was there and attacked anyway. That close to me. They seem to be the one wild animal around here that has no fear of humans. That's why I have the gun. I can't get rid of them any other way.

I think the nerf gun is a great idea.

Thank you for updating me.

I will be sure to post something on Mug Monday. :)

That fight between Hattie and Aurora was intense! I think not intervening was the right thing to do though. They obviously had something they needed to settle, whether it was a change in the pecking order, or something else. I take it they haven't fought again since?

@Shadrach, I'm glad Mel is okay! Goshawks are so quick and maneuverable, it's amazing that she managed to get away.

Wow that is scary. I have lots of hawks but they don't come anywhere near if I am around. My big issue is the foxes who are very bold and appear from nowhere (which is odd as they are bright red so you would think they would be easy to spot as they approach!)
