It's there as you described, thank you !! At least for more close up, when I gave them their mash just now I tapped on the screen on one of them and a circle appeared and I could see the picture adjusting, making them more light. Yay! I'll post one.

Success! Here's one the pictures, they were lined up beautifully and of course moved the moment I snapped it. BUT look at her wing feathers! At least on my phone they look pretty well delineated and the different colors come through thanks to the adjustments the camera made. Thanks Bob!

Question for BY Bob: (@BY Bob)
I consider you to be experienced in the care and raising of Leghorns, so that is why I am asking you!
Since laying her first egg at the end of October, my girl, Blanche, has become an egg-machine, laying one almost every day. :celebrate

Here is my question, her eggs have become larger. In the beginning, they were the size of a small or medium egg in the grocery store. The last two weeks I have noticed that they are consistently a lot larger! They are noticeably larger than the other hens‘ eggs. (She started laying a couple weeks before the others). Is this the way it normally goes with new hens?

Blanche‘s is the white one, of course.

Lucky
So Lucky was last to molt (not including the 1.5 year olds, who have not yet had their first real molt), and she was a hard, fast molter. She’s still molting on her head, but has squatted twice for me and is in the coop pacing bath and forth talking about eggs already! Nobody else has come back into lay yet. Lots of long, slow molting in my flock, which is fine by me!

Bridge
Bridge is standing and sitting a bit puffed, even though it’s warm. I’m not happy with this. It’s subtle, as she is also still eating, pooping, scratching, preening and being the boss. I won’t actually worry yet, but it’s a concern since she is almost 5 and (almost) stopped laying a couple years ago. She snapped out of it right after this, so perhaps she was just resting.

The nail gun noise is from a roof install next door.
O Dorothy, how beautiful you are. It's been a long time since I've seen a leghorn at the egg business. 🥰

As far as Bridge goes, I've seen Lilly do this. Just take a rest from time to time. Then get up and get back at it. Does Fat Bird do that @Shadrach ?

It worked great. Great definition.

Yes it is perfectly normal for leghorns. They lay surprisingly large eggs for such small birds. They start small and get larger as they get older. I remember mine laying extra large white eggs.

@micstrachan and @Aussie-Chookmum how large are Dorothy's and Tsuki's eggs?
