A bit of good news, at least for me.
It was looking increasingly likely that I would have to leave Spain and go back to England in March 2021. Needless to say the prospect has been putting me under considerable stress.
The problem was No Deal Brexit. With no deal there would have been no provision for paying pensions to Britiish subjects living in Spain. Some of the other EU countries had made arrangements for Brits caught out by this but not Spain
In March I become a pensioner and I was informed by those in the main house that as from March they were no longer going to pay me for looking after the animals etc. The virus situation has meant for the forseeable future none of them will be travelling and of course, they to are having financial difficulties.
The deal made recently between the EU and the UK does included provision for pension payments to UK subjects living abroad and that means I will in theory at least be able to claim my pension here. Doubtless there will be delays and complications but the Spanish have already extended the residence application time.
It's quite simple. No income, no residents permit. Pension is considered income.
I can move on to the next frustrating steps now.
I am very happy that they have worked things out for you. Hopefully the apostolic processes won't be too onerous.

Well, here's a thing.
According to their son, they know I will look after the chickens and ducks paid or not. They're right.
While I'm here of course, I won't let any creature here be neglected so they will no doubt take advantage of this. However, there is no way they'll be able to stick at looking after the other animals. I'll charge them when they say they're going off/out somewhere. I won't charge them much, but I will charge them.
I don't care to be honest. Not being dependent on what they pay me will allow me to force a few changes; not to mention that with my pension I will be financially much better off.
I'm in the process of setting up a blog for my lamps and with luck beleive how I will have a bank account next year (you wouldn't beleive how difficult it has been to get a Spanish bank account) and that means I can sell my woodwork on the internet. If I sold a lamp a month which isn't unreasonable, With a bit of judicious blackmails that means I can build coops!:p
This is sounding like some real freedom is on its way. You can start doing things the way you have wanted to. I'm so excited for you!

I know this has been worrying for for some time so I am glad there is @ least a partial resolution.

oh, goody! I would love one of your lamps but knew I would have to save hard to acquire one. This way I can plan much better
ETD: You will remember to post a link to your blog, won't you! ;)

Hattie did the Job!

Success! Hattie must be OK inside. My lovely lady laid a beautiful egg this afternoon. She was active and chatty afterwards. What a relief.

She is such a beautiful girl! I'm a real Hattie fan.
Just because you are, here is a great shot of her today that I was saving for a Friday.

I was quite scared that things would not go well today. I need this beautiful lady in my flock. 🥰
