I have to agree with you.Yes - just wanted to say thank you for how lovely everyone on these threads are. Definitely the best of BYC!
I think I got distracted by baby goats while I was typing my gratitude!

Oh don't worry, I am 100% clear I cannot handle goats. But it doesn't stop them being very cute to look at and play with!I can't help wondering if you lot have had any goats to deal with.
We had goats. They were a complete nightmare. Worse than the sheep.
There doesn't seem to be anything they wont chew.
That is the part. Denying care to a sick animal should be against their code. Does anyone know if vets have a "code"?I agree, they apparently see themselves like human physicians who can decide not to take any new patients. Only in human Emergency rooms (at least in New York State) can doctors NOT REFUSE emergency care. The difference is that they ARE the emergency room for chickens and all other animals we care for!
Frankly these threads are this way because WE desire them to be so. There is no way for me as a thread starter to block or remove anyone. All of us have done this. As a group we should be proud that these threads are such a welcome healthy place for conversation. Not really. I have hardly had the mental capacity to anticipate and look forward to eggs, been focusing so much on the roosting dynamics and Queenie's integration! Frankly my first reaction was just "WOW, already? Cool. But so soon? This is too much!" I carefully fried it up in olive oil and butter, a little salt and pepper, and DH and I split it. It had a nice deep orange color and was delicious!
I have been elsewhere too on BYC, I follow a few nice people and am interested in the topics but have been a little shocked at what feels like snarkiness. I retreat back to you folks. Maybe the moderators aren't able to keep up?
O Alex, sometimes they don't land my friend.Sarcasm so thick, I couldn't cut it with a chainsaw! At least it sounded like it.
I'm saving this for Mrs BY Bob. Thanks!I can't help wondering if you lot have had any goats to deal with.

I cannot figure out what has happened to Lilly's face in the middle one. That is the part. Denying care to a sick animal should be against their code. Does anyone know if vets have a "code"?
I owe a lot of chicken tax on this one. Time to pay up.
