That is the part. Denying care to a sick animal should be against their code. Does anyone know if vets have a "code"?

I owe a lot of chicken tax on this one. Time to pay up.

Fade into Lightness

Is it possible that chicken feathers fade? Check out Aurora's new tan feathers post molt.

Now look at her feathers back in June.

Yes color often changes from molt to molt. I've also noticed that Blu (blue rock) only partially molted this fall. Her new feathers came in a lovely dark slate gray color. Her older feather were a brownish gray. I do believe they get sun bleached as well.

Frankly these threads are this way because WE desire them to be so. There is no way for me as a thread starter to block or remove anyone. All of us have done this. As a group we should be proud that these threads are such a welcome healthy place for conversation.
Totally. :goodpost: Everyone who participates makes these threads what they are.

Agree. Patricia is nearly all white now with just a little black under her wings, which is never seen unless she spreads her wings. Looking less & less like a BR every moult.

Ok catchup tonight... this is a quick coffee post before I head down to “help with the tree”. 4 hrs and they haven’t gotten fully through it yet. I have a vet appointment for Roostie, 5 phone calls and a good degree of begging later. Scheduled for Monday the 11th, and let’s just say I might not get the phone bill paid this month and I’m going to be advertising my eggs very soon... fingers crossed this vet is a great one, and not some speciesist “just a chicken” sort. Thank you @ChicoryBlue, after the 2018 Corridor debacle and the Duncan Vet that will see livestock but won’t make an appointment and is never available I had given up hope. 💕💕

That little bit of orange is the top of the Tractor on the other side of the tree! And DH (5’10ish) texting excuses last night about why my mom wasn’t coming for dinner... 😆View attachment 2478724

You wouldn’t have wanted to have been under that when it fell. :(

Well done. I didn't know there was such a thing.

Ok so one of the things that got me excited was the idea of using shower curtains to block the wind and rain Really should have thought of it myself their use comes up in my iguana forums all the time but I never made the connection. My question though is did you use washers or something or just a bit of tension with screws through the grommets or?

I absolutely LOVED working as a vet tech. The vet I worked for is a very caring and smart veterinarian. I still take my animals to him this very day.

Anna has wanted to be a veterinarian since she first understood was jobs were. I have video of her kindergarten graduation where she states she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. I will do everything in my power to help her reach that goal.
