I don’t want to say I told you so. But I told you so!
Just don’t try and pull the ‘tough farm girl’ stunt with us. You are the biggest animal softie I know (and I don’t even know you!).
Does the goat have a name yet?
:love :love :love
Once it's named, it stays! 😯

You big old softie. Isn't the barn safe?
Not from owls, and she’s not even chicken sized yet! The barn is also mostly full of hay right now, the one up here at least, but I’m slowly feeding it out to the cows. The “you can’t bring that thing down here” comment was also tossed out while I was getting the milk replacer mixed up. Oh, and there’s lots of bleeping antibiotics on hand, I just am not given access to them. I was snooping a bit. Grrrrr

Found the mother, reintegration is sadly not possible, and the vultures have flown south so it might take a while for the Ravens and eagles to take care of the remains. I did hilariously try to pawn her off on two “not the mama”s which led to a quick baby goat chase up the hillside though.

No freezer camp for her if I can help it. But she’s going outside ASAP! Well, I was caught “stealing” milk replacer, my mother ended up in tears... we are buying a bag Monday (I had already planned on this last night and 10kg is more than this little dear will drink for sure) and some small nipples and a bottle for her... and I did say “well then, you can just shoot her if you want, but you’ll have to do me first” needless to say the”relationship” with the aunt in law/farm “manager” (if you can call that management) has not improved... but her she actually acknowledged my existence this time.

Not a blast, but cute right now, she is nibbling everything. These are a feral group of herds and they get Big, Really big, with Large horns. They are a random mix of meat and dairy breeds that quickly reverted to a more hardy, wild, horned breed mix.
@BY Bob I missed you’re quote, I think it was yours? But the guy with the three dairy goats was trying to convince me to take them! Lol... I’m hoping she will one day join a herd like Millie did.
O Kris, another project. You really are a good person. How old does it have to be to be off on its own?

Ok, y’all know the “when it rains it pours” idiom? It works both ways, I guess. I got Roostie a vet appointment yesterday, today my “pet supplies” arrived in the mail (posted dec 10th from California, international “priority“ mail), and I found and started photographing the secret drug stash down at the farm... then to top it off my tooth issue cropped up again, so now I have some nasty pictures to attach for a tele health amoxicillin drug phishing quest! So Thankfull!

I used to check in on the emergency forum often, and the meat birds and predators/pests ones. Now I do not. I was looking to learn as much as possible as quickly as I could. Now I find, aside from the nasty comments, there are also a lot of poorly informed ones purporting to be informative. Also so grateful for all the knowledge and support here! Big hugs to everyone!
You know Kris that's how I started. I did the sick chickens forums as well. I can't go there anymore. It was a chicken shaming thread that brought me here and I've made my home here ever since. Now I have no time to look anywhere else.
