The poor thing can't scratch! 😦
Right, the lawn takes priority, arrggh. It is kinda funny for about two seconds, but it really made me anxious! I see zero protection for the hen here, in fact she is even more vulnerable, trapped in there with such large holes, to hawks, dogs/coyotes, raccoons, whatnot! :(

To everyone complaining of the canine poop eating... there are worse things... far worse. The dogs here like to roll in things, usually poop. Occasionally someone will sneak up to the “death pit” (inedible offal disposal area, though I think the name the farm kid uses is more dramatic sounding, especially when it first came from the mouth of a cute little 6 year old girl!) for some snacks, or my personal favorite, decide to clean up the blood trough from the Abbatoir with their face and tongue several days post slaughter so the gore isn’t even fresh. They have been known to bring partially decomposing limbs into the house and lay them on the bed (and I thought pillow rodent corpse “gifts” were bad!). Then there was the baby lamb that was buried 4 times. Delta kept digging it up.

We live on a working meat farm with a small but “A class” licensed abattoir and raise process beef and lambs, for anyone not familiar with our current situation here.

That seems exceedingly dangerous. 😬
Potty training has been quite successful, we don’t have a lot of accidents anymore, but it’s not ideal for a restful night. She’s starting to get a little bouncy at nights... again not a great house pet! Looking at you Mrs. BY Bob... lol 😉
