My Spidey Senses were Tingling

Something made me log back onto BYC tonight before bed. I bumped into @micstrachan and gave brief replies. While I was here something told me to check the coop and see how cute they were huddled up an warm before I went to bed.

I already knew everybody was roosted as I watched them roost tonight on camera live. By the way, there was no pecking or fighting tonight at roost time. Just lots of bawking.

So I expected to see happy cuddled hens.

And I did. I turned off the camera and was ready to go to bed when something caught my eye. The coop door had not closed all the way.

It is still snowing and the wind is kicking up even more. I suited up and out I went.

The ice and snow from earlier today had jammed the door open. I was able to clear the mechanism and get the door shut. The ladies are safe again.

This is not the first time something has warned me and I headed off a bad situation. I am always amazed when it happens. Thank you Spidey Senses!
Well done Bob's Spidey senses. I'm glad you listen to your gut.
🕷👍

Only when they start laying. Or never, and just give oyster shell on the side so they can top up their calcium.
My older hen has finished laying so this might be the way to go (the shell grit on the side) because Bok won’t need the calcium in layer feed now huh 🤔
@LozzyR ill look into the food you suggested, see if my feed store stocks it or something similar. Always just had pellets with the other 2 but happy to try something new 😊 is it a more natural type crumble?
Thanks to both of you 👍🏻

Right third time Kris and first time Bob.
Emus and kangaroos supposedly cannot walk backwards so they are our coat of arms supporters. "Advance Australia Fair". Or at least that's what I was told.
All this Aussie animal talk has reminded me of a book (one of my favourites that I read to Violet regularly) that I have been meaning to recommend to @BY Bob to look at getting for Eve: Wombat Stew! An absolute staple in children’s literacy here in my opinion, we just did it again tonight (and it’s one I’m good at doing different voices in hahaha)
How is Eve going anyway @BY Bob? Still a cutie I bet 💜😉

I’m only 650 pages behind (while trying to catch up on the present!) yay!
Harder now I’m back at work but I’ll get there 🙂
Also for Eve @BY Bob, an Aussie cartoon on Disney perhaps in the US, Bluey. It is a cracker, a family of heeler dogs, and tbh I like watching it as much as Violet 🤭
