Third night in a row
Once again Minnie has chosen to sleep on a roost all alone. I can no longer dismiss this as a random event. It is a new pattern.
Has she been rejected by the flock? There is no real evidence of that in the day. It seems like she just likes to have her own bedroom!
I have watched how it happens. She and Dotty hang out together on the day roost - they chat and look out of the window. Sometimes Maggie or Elizabeth joins them. I haven't seen Diana sit and chat. They do that even when it doesn't snow, just a place they like to hang out.
Now, at bed time, Dotty flies down and flies up to be with the big Princesses for the night while Minnie puffs herself up and stays put.
I thought it might be a problem of her not seeing in the dark and getting 'left behind' - but it is quite clear she just wants to stay where she is.
Very strange.

I wish my birds weren't so messy, when they eat, or I would let them sit at the dinner table with me!:barnie

Except they are almost guaranteed to behave in ways that make any allergy worse. I am mildly allergic to one of my present cats & he's the one who really gets in my face creating the itchy eyes & nose. The other cat is far more reasonable but I'm not allergic to him. :gig

But I think you are right: Shad has many cat~like qualities. Could be why he's so well liked on these threads! ;):lau
I’m so sad cuz I have recently become allergic to my cats:hit If Ikiss them on the mouth then I get blisters and if I kiss them anywhere else my lips become very dry and it’s as if they are chapped really bad! And the new kitty makes all of this worse than any of them:barnie... and I really can’t help not to kiss them! Like.. I HAVE to kiss them! And so I am miserable.... I know, stupid!

This is such sad news. I am a bit of a fan of the leghorns on this site, because of my own lovely girl Blanche. And I enjoyed the Tsuki stories always.
🙏🙏🙏💔
Blanche is going to have to pick up her game now. She has big shoes to fill.

The good thing is that she has a place to hang out safely. She can make that choice.
