This is another dual post. Concerned and happy at the same time. Hopefully Esther just needs to recover from her trials growing new feathers. I know hope is no strategy but it is all I can do from here. :hugs:hugs
Thanks, Bob. Hope is helpful. It’s just comforting to know other chickaneers worry about these things like I do. Today Ester went into the coop, as if to lay an egg, while I was putsing around the run. There was no egg song, but there was a warm, freshly laid egg, darker than what Ester has been laying. I’m really not sure whose it was.

Is there anything better the happy contented trills of chicks in the brooder and new chicks fluffing up in the incubator announcing their arrival into the world. 2 hatched so far and another has pipped. To top that off keep hearing the girls outside singing their egg song, 5 so far today, I got 7 yesterday. Biggest egg haul so far.

Only thing I can think of better, is a cuddle with the chicks. DBCE11E5-9F8C-4413-92BF-9FF9192E71EE.jpeg

I wasn't sure what you were going after but Mrs BY Bob got it right away!

The likeness is striking!
Besides the one-eye situation due to hat and comb, it's the ruffles and wattles below, but mostly it's the steady, confident, a little bit flirty and very direct gaze right into your eyes! :love
