She looks great. Her color is nice and red. I feel like she is just really put out by the snow. Snow reflects even the smallest amount of light, she really could just be having trouble seeing and is being overly cautious.

It snowed hard last night, all day off and on, and is supposed to keep up until 1 tomorrow. We need it! Interesting, we aren't getting a lot. A lot of small flurries off and on. I had ordered some Nn eggs that were to be shipped today from New Mexico. He said he isn't going to ship due to extreme weather conditions. It's been staying in the teens, and they got 10 inches of snow! New Mexico! What's going on?

I read it was something to do with warming over the arctic forcing the polar vortex out of its normal domain (the North pole). This was somewhere like in National Geographic I think. Sounded like we may need to expect more severe winters further South in future.

Treacle short staffed again.

Cillin having a bad day. He goes up to the sheep shed and talks to Jenny and Solomon the muscovy ducks when he can't get near the hens.

Late afternoon and Treacle has gone to roost minus Fat Bird and Moon. Cillin escorted them up later.

Cillin's bumble foot is improving. The scab has gone and the core is working it's way out slowly. Gloria reckons at least another week until all the crap is out.
I think I lost a week at the begining due to not getting that pad right. I'll try and get some pictures when I re bandage next.

It is lovely to see them all again. I hope Cillin gets his mojo back soon and can at least "help" Treacle officially. Clearly there are too many hens for him to manage on his own.

One more Bite from Old Man Winter

The forecast has gotten worse. The temperature here went from nearly 45°F yesterday to 23°F now. At least the sun is out! We will take that.

The ladies came running out of their coop this morning headed straight to the deck. They surely have cabin fever. Today Sansa and Aurora hung back. Phyllis scooted right into the house between my legs. She hung out for quite a while with Mrs BY Bob this morning. She was in so long she left a small present on the carpet. What are you going to do?

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From late tonight through Friday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are possible Thursday morning. The risk of a wintry mix Thursday night has been reduced and shifted farther to the southeast toward I-95.
