Same. I have a couple dry combs right now. I have NEVER tended to a comb. Not even the time Bridge tore the back section off. And I tend to be a bit over the top. The end of Bridgey’s comb became necrotic and fell off a couple days later. View attachment 2569378
That looks like fowl pox to me. And the back bit just lost its blood supply from being torn?

Jaffar gets a dry comb like that too. I use a little coconut oil. Seems to help
Thank you. I am going to try it. Minnie needs some butt cleaning (not too bad) so it looks like I am going to impose a spa day on her. She will not appreciate it. But she will appreciate the treats she gets after. I think she is last in the pecking order and gets her comb pecked by almost everybody when she dives in for treats.

Happens to me too
Mine seem to think the phone is a new and interesting treat. So I get them all lined up with some shrimp tails or rice or whatever is on hand and then I pull out the phone and they all turn and run to the phone.
:th
Mind you, Diana and Elizabeth are sort of skinny-shanked chickens so they aren't much in the fluffy butt arena. Maggie, Minnie and Dotty though have lovely fluff if I can get a shot at it!

So did my Lucy! But because she was ex-battery her beak was trimmed and wasn’t sharp, so she couldn’t rip bits off it. It died of blunt force trauma and I buried it under a frangipani I was planting. She did swallow a couple of baby frogs whole though.

Shad, Fat Bird is looking good. Have you ever tried lemon juice with spices (cinnamon, ginger, cayenne) for crop issues? That’s more for sour than impacted crop, but I don’t think it could be harmful.
I thought they couldn't have lemon of cinnamon. I read about the lemon being bad for them after I squirted some in their warm food.
