:hit:hit:hitThat really is sad! 😭😭😭
I'm sorry but this is one of my crusades. I really do not want to make this thread about an egg crusade. So I will only say this once.

Your friends and neighbors who save on average 11 cents an egg, $1.32 per dozen, support this practice. Feel free to show them the pictures and tell them so.

There was one good thing about the back up yesterday morning. I've got my Fluffy Butt Friday shots already. I'll go ahead and post these 2 as teasers as the 2 I'm holding back are much better. This girl is one of the twins, Bunny. If I can catch them in the nest box with their egg I can tell them apart. Bunny's is bigger with dark speckles but lighter over all. Lola's egg is smaller, no speckles but darker. It was actually Lola in the box causing the back up.

Beautiful lady. I just love that tail!

You are correct there are actually 19 chooks there!

My Phoenix pair are down by the pine tree.

The huge bird is my Silkie roo, Thunder. He only looks that big because Lacey is tiny.
They are all beautiful!
Thunder looks like a little man in a gorilla suit of feathers! Maybe he had just fluffed up when you took the picture? I'd love to see more pictures of him and of Lacey, if you get a chance. If only to restore him to being a chicken (in my mind... )

Have I ever commented on how clever you are?
I don't know, but it is totally undeserved here - this is something I came across elsewhere on the web and on BYC, not an original idea at all! On the other hand, we've been dealing with a clogged drain to septic line without an easy clean-out T on it for the last few days (thank goodness it's a feeder line and not the main line) and I did come up with a pretty good idea for getting an auger to go around a corner. I specialize in string & wire, duct tape and coat hangers. In this case, an old shower pipe.
Chicken tax - I am intending to get some video up but we've been busy. Traveled a ways to get a second Covid shot today (yay), which took all afternoon. Late Fluffy Butt picture, from earlier in March.

Thunder has little man syndrome. He "thinks" he's a big man!🤣

This is Thunder, Mama, and Lacey. Mama wasn't in the picture because she's inside raising my babies for me.
