Round up the usual suspects.

I have the feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Almonds? We have acres of almonds, walnuts, pistachios, grapes, corn, everywhere. My fruit trees don't produce too well though.

You should have plenty of fertilizer!

Come Wednesday I should be getting Cinnabar's friends. They will be five weeks apart. However, we have had chicks of different ages get along in the past. We'll see how they get along together, but we have a divider if needed.

Thank you for your kind comment! I didn't even know that they had a calendar contest!!! I'll have to look into it! I was thinking of using these photos to create a Mother's Day greeting card!

I'm a big believer in chicken based greeting cards.

How many hours of sunshine does it get in the growing season? But it's strange, even partially shaded ones here will still grow though not bloom as much.

It gets almost all day sun. Like 10 am to sunset.

I'm probably too late, but bed sheets work great for covering large garden areas! I've had to do this more times then I'd like to remember.

Very clever. I use shower curtains.

Fat Bird thinking about having a bit of a sit.
I'm very surprised at just how well she has managed to cope with her back problems. Yes she still staggers from time to time but she has enough control over her balance and legs to jump down from the chair onto the concrete floor.
The floor doesn't provide any grip as such and even the youngsters skid about on it if they don't take care. I watched Fat Bird hop down to the floor from the chair today and while it wasn't what one would call delicate, she kept upright and both legs together.

Wow, so many chickens some people have. How can you be able to tuck all of them in at night? I have 13 and after the bedtime story, it gets late in the evening .

Stop it! I don't want to break my stride here....We have 7 now and I've got hubby all ready to go to add 10 more next year.
