Awww... very sweet. Thank you for sharing. These feathered friends get deep into our hearts, don’t they?I had an experience tonight.
Since the afternoon I buried Bok, I haven’t sat with her. Each morning when I walk past I greet her (good morning old lady) and each evening I tip my hat to her and say goodnight on the way inside after closing the coop.
Tonight after closing the coop, I sat on the edge of the concrete next to her ‘paver’. As soon as I started talking to her the tears came. I spoke to her about what I appreciated she did for the pullets, that I hoped she was at peace and that I hoped Penny had found her and they were causing mischief together wherever they were (how did I devolve to beliefs of my 5 year old?) I allowed for my feelings to go on for a bit before I reigned it in and resumed mum life![]()

Phyllis would like hanging out with them. She loves worms.Lol...so they did find one. And they had no idea what to do with it. Looked at it cockeyed, pecked a little and then walked away.
Hubby says he guesses they strive to be vegetarians.
