Oh my gosh! I am so sad for you!I couldn't be more sad. Found out why I've had stomach problems. It's been bad. I have C. diff. Yes, they are finding that animals .. birds...can transmit it. I have a pretty sad immune system. No antibiotics to have caused it. I did this last year. Same time. We tried to figure out what I did the same that caused me to be sick. I hatched! Had this last year but got over it without the help with meds. This year I have to take something and cross fingers it helps. Placing ..all..of my chickens.I don't want to hurt like this again!

Read your posting here https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/can-chickens-give-you-c-diff.991815/post-24388621 and I think I get what you mean (that you haven't been on a bunch of antibiotics recently). I don't mean to preach here but please ask for palliative meds too, if you aren't getting them and you are able to take them. Don't wait to tough something out. Also don't say no to fluids by IV, it really helps. You have your kids there to help, correct? OK I'll stop...it's just that I had a hunch all along since you posted about potassium that you were suffering something similar to what I went through way back when....I couldn't be more sad. I don't talk about it because there's nothing to say. I have birds in the Big Coop. I have birds in the Little Coop. Each day I let my older girls out & they investigate the littlies in the Little Coop. When they ignore them I let the Littles out to free range with the Bigs. When the Littlies are big enough I hoy them in the Big Coop with everyone else. End of story. Literally nothing happens.Just a little maybe.
