They are definitely awake in Virginia, my daughter is not happy with them. They are everywhere and of course they leave their exoskeleton all over. She was just telling me yesterday how she went to open the garage door and it was like a waterfall of skeletons falling . Then her 5 year old brought the butterfly house filled with cicadas into the house to show all the girls

We don't have any here yet and I'm not looking forward to seeing them.

I was hoping for them too... in some ways...

@BY Bob, @CrazyChookChookLady did the brood X cicadas emerge by you yet? I gather they are up and about but I don't seem to have any. I admit I am a bit disappointed, I was looking forward to the chicken-fun.

I have not had any yet. There have been posts on my local Facebook group with pictures of hundreds on and around a tree.

Last time I lived in PA, and it was unbelievable!
But I didn’t have chickens or ducks back then, and I would love to see what would transpire !
