I've had some dreams about trying to protect the other chickens. I have been skipping over pictures of the two for now. We saved some of their feathers and I plan to bind them together with ribbon. I think what makes me most sad is the others won't hop on my arm to be pet. I have to scoop them up manually and they aren't my biggest fans.

I do have plans to set up official commissions later this summer, but if your interested in an image you can pm me.
Expect a message from me!

They're not barren but they were hatched at a tricky time of year. They'll lay eventually and until then, think of all the extra time you'll have with them!
I know, it’s just my little joke with them MJ. As we discussed in your thread, later laying age can mean more time with me (not counting possible predation) They are healthy and that’s the main thing. 💜
In saying that I have been watching chicken tv while I do the dishes and Snow has gone into the coop twice this morning to fuss around in the nest box, Belle is going in and out like a clingy little sister not knowing what’s going on but not wanting to be left out 😂

At least Snow is thinking about nests, that's better than nothing. She may give you an egg even though it's winter.

Yes, it’s the first time I’ve seen her do it. The inside of the coop holds no interest to them unless it’s bedtime, didn’t for the ISAs either.
I wish I had a camera in there, she will fill the nesting space completely I reckon with her size and all that fluff 😂🥰
I’m not expecting an egg, it’s light at about 7:20 and dark at 5:30 now, so it would be only be a happy bonus before spring.

Short days and wild weather here too, but Ivy continues laying. You just never know...

Oooooh! Maybe we'll get a first egg pic soon :fl

The TSC babies were outside today. They are growing big and strong.

I've decided to keep the Marans, and 2 of the EE chicks, one light and 1 dark. The remains 6 I'll sell as a package deal.
