Hey..coming on to let you know my husband passed on the 27th...last Thursday. All I can say is, this is so hard. Kids have been wonderful! So thankful for them. A couple stayed with me through the days as he passed. Then one daughter stayed one more night. The kids that live here we're in California for a wedding. They got back the day before he passed. I'm so grateful they are home..I'm not alone. Thank you for prayers.

So sorry for your loss, it is a hard and slow row to hoe. I hope you can lean on your friends and family who know you and have been there too. That can be a godsend. Hugs

Another hopelessly hot day here. Some of the birds are under the porch, attempting to stay cool. When I go out to check on them, they come running out (I would rather they not do that, (it’s much cooler under there) but I do have to check on them. I have all the water stations full, and cool water running around the apricot tree. Poor babies. The rest are in the chicken room, watching Animal Planet. (Deep ocean creatures) I don’t think they are interested in jellyfish.

So sorry to hear this. It must be a very difficult time for you. So good that you have family there to support you. I never really know what to say at these times. I'm always worried I'll make things more difficult. But I do want to offer my sincere condolences.

Have you put on any insect films? Videos of flies and crickets? How about little frogs? That might interest them. Maybe that's why Jaffar likes WWll movies, the shots of planes flying around might look like dragonflies...

If there was a pet shop close by, I would get them real crickets !

I keep finding Rosie just standing in the nest box like she is over being broody, but forgot what else she is supposed to do
I just took out an old (clean) litter pan and filled it with an inch or two 90° water and stuck her in it. She just stood there for a min, I rinsed her legs and then she hopped out and went on her chickeny way. Fingers crossed she is done.
