Why are the mosquitos hanging out in there do you think? Is it damp anywhere? Could they have bred there? Another thought is that mosquitos do not like light areas, they prefer dark places, that's why in the tropics the walls are often painted white. Perhaps during the day (when not roosting) a bright light might discourage congregations of mosquitos in there.

I guess they are in there cuz it is pretty dark.. but they also don’t leave from there at dusk. It is not damp at all.. they hide in the pine shavings and hay...

I saw that mosquitoes hate lavender and eucalyptus, I haven't used the euccalypus but I have added a sprig of lavender and rosemary just under their straw.
So far I haven't had problems with bugs in their coop, maybe that is why.

Where do you get lavender and rosemary from? I will try that... thank you

Shad is allergic to cats.

So was I but after my home was invaded and then over taken by the big boss here, (photographed with the dog that pretends he's not so in love with him) within months I seemed to get over it.

Oh no I haven't done it - after last summer I resolved I would do it this summer - it has only just started being bug season so this weekend I was going to investigate how to do it.
Step one, find the bug zapper in the garage!

I just dropped into our fluffy home before going off to watch my aussie series on Netflix. I have to say those down under have the upper hand for good viewing imo.
