I would not lock them up. Try supplementing their calcium first. My concern is that there may be nothing you can do if it is just part of the aging process.

How many eggs a week do you get from them? Are they slowing down?
Not really. Maggie of course took a long break after the Lash egg. They all laid like crazy in the spring and now getting more skipped days - but it is still a very high rate. Even the roadrunners lay every other day or so.
Sigh.

I tried approaching from behind and below but she was confused. So I approached from the front and up she stepped, onto my hands. Then I gently and slowly carried her on my hands and placed her in the big basket. She didn't flap at all, even though her feet were wobbly now and then. I was very proud of her 🥰 she was so cooperative and even ducked her head under the basket handle instead of trying to step onto it.
She has some experience with this now. 👍 Good job Mary.

It worked! Well done. :love

That was nasty.

Peggy is extra nasty when her body hurts. Maybe Maggie is hurting somehow? Maybe it was her soft egg?
Pretty sure it wasn't Maggie's soft shelled egg as she lays in the top right and she laid an egg that day.
But I will give everyone a check over for sure.
