I am afraid you are quite correct. Very sad.Whenever these things happen (sick birds, heat, whatever), I think, āWhat happens with birds with less attentive humans? They just die?ā
I really struggle with this. I can't understand it.Sadly, I was at a friendās house recently and wanted to see her chickens. It was very depressing. Why keep chickens if you donāt really care about them?
This is good advice to all. They are handy for grinding up meds when needed and not to expensive.I bought a little mortar and pestle for this exact thing (crushing calcium tablets). Good work!

They bring all these things, eggs, companionship, and entertainment. They are just not as easy to keep as a dog or cat. Look at all you have learned as well. They are excellent at keeping you faculties exercised as well. You and I have had some excellent exchanges recently. I like the creativity they force on me as well. I'm constantly learning and adapting.And I cried for Maggie who is still with us 9 months after her lash egg and Diana seems to be doing better too (fingers crossed).
