Riddle me this - why is it that the black cat wants to wind himself affectionately around my legs when I am wearing light colored pants and when I wear black pants it is the white cat who is suddenly so lovey-dovey?
It is just a fact of life with cats!

I could not believe my two big fuzzy boys would not come inside during the two crazy hot days. They weren't in the sun either, they stayed under the truck in the driveway, but still. I couldn't even stand the shade on Sunday. Cats.


Today we awoke to cool cloudy and quiet!

I want you all to be the first to hear,,,, as I sit here with my coffee ( I got up at 5:30am) I have not been out to the coop yet, I figure the chicks are 7 & 6 weeks old, can deal with the morning, I can have my coffee before I go out--
WELL! there has been the normal LOUD egg laying chorus being loudly sung for all in a 5 mile radius to hear--

I hear,,,,,,,,,,,, a young voice cackle/ chirp/ Peep- one of the 7week old Brown leghorns is trying to cluck Hahahahahaha

awww. They are entering their teenage days.

Tiny little eggs from my smallest Barred rock. I’m really hoping that the eggs get bigger in time, but the ones out of Shenandoah aren’t even large enough for a teeny tiny omelette. It’s about the size of a nickel at the moment. (Must have been her first ever egg)
Maybe, the chickens want me to cut down on my egg consumption?

Expect a lot of photo's later on today. Had the farrier out this morning and all the chickens were strutting around and posing. Especially Drummie, so I went in and grabbed the camera and went on a photoshoot. After all, have to get a few good ones for the calendar contest Here is one of my favorites. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this boy.

My white cat (Josh's twin) never lost his kitten hair - he is so soft to pet it is lovely.

I have hopes that this is her forever hair. it would be amazing. So Soft.

In reality Davis' hair is a LOT thicker than hers. Her hair is silky smooth and very thin right now. Luckily I think she still has her kitten hair.

I know a little about thinning hair. I had wavy hair long ago, but then it waved goodbye, back when I was 20 years old.
