Expect a lot of photo's later on today. Had the farrier out this morning and all the chickens were strutting around and posing. Especially Drummie, so I went in and grabbed the camera and went on a photoshoot. After all, have to get a few good ones for the calendar contest Here is one of my favorites. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this boy.

Okay, I have a broody problem. My hen Xzit, wanted to stay in the hot 🥵 coop, and sit on a golf ball. She’s a bran new laying hen. (First egg just last week) I had to bring her into my chicken room into the Air conditioned space. She was panting bad out in the laying box.
My question is: How to break a determined broody? She can’t stay in the house forever!

My black horse used to sleep flat out in the middle of the field like that. Her fur would be hot to the touch, but she was happy as a clam.
My white boxer, Gracie, insists on laying outside (usually on the cement walkway) in the hot sun! And when she’s inside, she looks for sunbeams coming in the window to sleep in.
Inside is air conditioned anyway, but I make her come in from outside.
