No fire danger here. We have probably had close to 6 inches or more of rain in that last 4 days from the big storms. Everything is so wet here I could take a blow torch to the ground and not start a fire.
Yes. Here too. More likely you will get stuck in the mud while lighting the blow torch! Everything is sodden.

Ruby was too weak to jump up onto the shelf and too dumb (or uncoordinated? I never saw her try) the ramp, so I lifted her up there. She went to bed in a nest box.

I think she ate some of the mash I made that had aloe detox, nutridrench and buttermilk in it. If she’s back on feed, that will help her gain some strength. I hope I find no maggots in the morning, but will wash and treat her bum again. I think this time I’ll use betadine or chlorhexadine in a large syringe.

Also, Buttercup had a bit of a raw spot (not an actual sore like Ruby) when I cleaned her back end. A couple other girls have full-on turds, though dry ones, dangling back there. Not sure what’s going on, but I will clean and possibly trim them, too.
I hope she is better this morning :love:love

Don't give that blow torch to anyone in my area, some jerk was shooting off rockets last night. (Boom, boom, boom) No fires this time though. :he

Chicken tax. Rocks-Ann came to me and asked “please daddy, can I sleep in the house tonight, it’s too hot in the coop?” I obliged.

I'm sorry you still have idiots shooting off fireworks. Thankfully after 3 nights in a row have not had anyone else set any off. I also wish I could send some of the rain we've had your way. It has rained almost every day the past week, I'm currently fighting a loosing battle keeping the chicken coop dry. Same with the stalls, the ground is so saturated that the boy's pee spots are not absorbing like normal. Sadly for me and my nose that means its one of those few times I can actually smell their pee when I clean their stalls every evening.
