Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

My sense is it was ten a day, now it's definitely more. There's one pattern I saw when I'd get caught up, five each morning and evening. But now 10- 15 a day, more on weekends or at times. We all want to say something! Sorry @LozzyR, I'm adding right now!

I got some pictures yesterday for tax:

Hazel on lookout as usual. She stands pretty much stock still so is great for photographing.

To me, it's appropriate that Butters wears a superhero cape. She's shown great strength and tenacity

Good one! Can you imagine their stress of a car ride in crates followed by being brought to an unfamilar place with dogs running all around?

Sandy liked her one visit to the beach, but it has to be said she didn't leave the car.

We received over 3 inches (7.5 cm) of rain in a 2 time span. We had some local flash flooding.

That's really heavy! Have you seen the flooding in Belgium and Germany? It's given me the shudders.

I have accomplished something in taming Blueberry. She was held back from her group simply at first because my dad liked her colors and wanted to know what she would look like as a adult. Me and Rosie had been eyeballing her since day 1 hoping she was in fact a she and trying to find a way to justify keeping another mix. When he made the comment he thought she was the prettiest one at only 3 weeks old and wanted to know what she would look like as a adult that sealed the deal. Keeping her was his idea, not ours and she would become HIS chicken. We all have our own favorite or special chickens, mine is obviously Drumstick. Mom's is Butter, Rosie's heart belongs to Basil and Raven. Dad has never had a favorite, he likes them all, but has yet to click with one. He came in last night gloating that he'd stolen my chicken. I asked him he meant by that, and apparently for 2 hours Blueberry never left his side. She stayed with him while he let dirt graze after his ride, then when he put dirt up and was grooming him she was either on the top stall board or on Dirt's back talking to him. She then hopped up on his lap before bed and settled in while he and mom were out there just sitting with the horses before coming in. I'm going to smugly let him think he stole my chicken, when in fact His chicken has won him over.

That is just wonderful. I am so happy for him.

Everytime she is in the house, I keep her in a darkened pen. It doesn't seem to slow her down. In all fairness, I haven't kept her in for more than 48 hours bc it breaks my heart with her calling for her sisters

It needs to be days. Bring her in early several days in a row and put her in the dark. It's tough but it could help
