Today, Emily is the only hen I let in the house. Even this one needs some “daddy and me time” I bet Jaffar is going nutz looking for her at the moment. Say hi to the world Emily.:frow CD8358A3-1F8B-4B0C-BF9C-DC5F39CD7E8C.jpeg

A Celebration of Hattie (the pullet years)

I think that I will have least 2 days of pullet photos there are so many. 😁

My cut-off was when I moved her outside to live in the old coop. Here we go!

Meeting Patsy and Lilly for the first time.

Awww the pullet years (weeks?) has reminded me of little Ivy and little Peggy 💕 Running from the big hens! Run for your life!!

Nothing is set in stone yet and will not be after a few more days of observation. But, I did something today that really shows the stark contrast in the size of the silkie chicks. Henrietta's 6 that I am having to hand raise are exactly 2 weeks old and got to go outside for the first time. To ensure safety and to stop me from chasing down wild chicks who got their first taste of freedom I put them in with the silkies. I had my camera with me and took some pictures. The silkies are 6 weeks and 3 days old. They got along, and truth be told, the bully was the chest bumping blue chick. Their full marans brother even hit the roosting bar to get away from that terror.

I really needed my emotional support rooster today, but Jaffar was busy with all his hens. (But one! Haha, I have Coco in with me now. Everyone loves a nice cup of Coco! ) and any snuggle chicken is good at the moment! I told her all about Michelle’s Ruby “she bawked that Ruby will be okay tomorrow, I sincerely hope that Coco is right. She usually is!

Beautiful hen Coco, and yes makes me breakfast! But she doesn’t think she’s a chicken, she thinks she’s responsible for military logistics!:lauView attachment 2767815
Wouldn’t everybody love a cup of cute Coco in the morning? I’m blessed, that I actually can!
